At the end of the day leadership in any realm - parenting, business, sports, etc. - comes down to relational influence. To lead someone else is really to influence them. And if we are going to influence others it begins and ends with relationships.
There are so many liberties we have in America that are often overlooked. Freedoms that have yet to be experienced by many others around the world. Freedoms people for centuries never participated in. And that is a good thing, but if we are not careful apathy can creep in.
In that championship game, there were plenty of moments of doubt, but in the end a confident victory was won. And sometimes, that is exactly what living out the Christian faith can be like...a road with doubts along the way, but victory at the end.
My son can be enjoying a stuffed animal he has all to himself in his room, blissfully unaware of any other object or human's existence. But the moment his little sister enters the room and grabs another animal (which he was not playing with or knew was there), you'd think WWIII had been initiated.

While rest and peace are necessary and I may not do it well the reality is that even the endless enjoyment of rest and peace won't solve the issue, in fact, it may deepen the problem.
