Ministry Philosophy

My personal ministry mission statement is to glorify God by discipling people toward a passionate, Christ-like life, and equipping them to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In other words, my ministry mission is to be a disciple-making disciple.

Personal Summary

Birth and Childhood

  • I was born and raised in a rural southeast Ohio community. My Christian parents, older sister, and I moved only once when I was ten years old. This is where I would call home until I was 18 years old.

Conversion and Calling

  • Since my parents were Christians, I grew up attending church with my family anytime the doors were open. One Wednesday night, when I was six years old, God changed my life. During a children’s program, our pastor spoke about how God had made a way for us to have an eternal relationship–eternal life–with him through His son Jesus Christ. That night, under conviction of the Holy Spirit for my sin, I sought God’s forgiveness, repented of my sin, and offered my life to Him as a living sacrifice. It would be another ten years before I saw God work in my life to call me to full-time ministry. Through numerous interactions with my youth pastor and a personal injury, God broke my stubborn heart and I offered myself completely to Him. It was during this time that my youth pastor asked me if I had ever considered ministry as an option for my life. Over the next six months God would affirm in me the desire for ministry and confirm through others this calling.

  • I married Bethany Rachelle Stockdale on August 22nd, 2011, in Pennsylvania. Bethany was born and raised in northeast Pennsylvania. She attended Clarks Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College) and earned her Bachelor’s degree as an Office Professional. Bethany is a humble, hospitable servant, and disciple-maker. She is always discipling people, specifically other women, as well as our children. Our marriage is, by God’s grace, a true joy, privilege, blessing, and tool of sanctification in both of our lives.
