The USA has done it again, another gold medal. I have heard this statement a number of times over the past 2 weeks. The Olympics will be winding down soon in Rio, but the sports fandom will carry on for quite a while.

I love sports. I began playing organized sports at the age of 5 and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, even if how much I play has slowed. Sports has been a part of my life for a long time. I hope that sports will continue to be a part of my life as my children grow up and gain interest in them. However, I want to make sure that I and my children have a solid “Theology of Sport“. The apostle Paul gives us a great place to begin building our theology of sport in 1 Timothy 4:1-10 and this article helps us think through it.
