“I wish someone had told me”! I remember thinking those words after getting off the phone with a friend. He was going through some marriage difficulties and it was one of the hardest conversations we had ever had. But that was not the end, within another year a second friend and I had a very similar discussion. It was then that “I wish someone had told me”!

I wish they had told me how hard life would be. I wish they had told me how much work marriage would be. I wish they had told me that friendship would require those hard conversation. I wish they had told me I would shed more tears over others life trials than I could imagine. These are just some of the things:

“I wish someone had told me!”

James Emery White

There are many other things “I wish someone had told me”. But I am thankful for all the things someone did tell me as well. Which is why I was grateful and reminded of all the things someone had told me when I read James Emery White’s article “I Wish Someone Had Told Me!” I particularly liked the “bonus” he adds in the when I first had kids section.

What other things would you add to this list? What insights have others shared with you that proved vital to you? Share those in comments, enjoy the article and as always be with the Lord’s people on the Lord’s day.
