This is your last-minute reminder. Your “clock has struck midnight” moment. Your calm before the storm. Your…pick whatever other analogy you’d like. The point is this, you don’t have much time left. It’s coming and it’s coming fast. In less than 48 hours it will be here. The question is, “Will you be prepared?”. But you may be wondering…what is it that is coming so quickly? What is almost here that needs our attention that badly?

Mother’s Day! That’s right! Mother’s Day will be here in just under 2 days (depending on when you are reading this post). But the point is you and I should be ready for it. We didn’t get here on our own. We are not self-made people. And there is one person who, more than likely, ensured your survival like no other human being on the planet. This person did that from day one of your life. This person is your mom. Mother’s Day should not be the only time you praise and recognize your mom, but it should happen this Sunday as well.

“You are strong, doing an excellent job and I admire you.”

However, moms are often taken for granted. While there are many people we should and can honor throughout our lives, moms are some of the most important. The reality is I can often overlook how hard a mom works. James Emery White tracked down a great illustration showing us why Mom is so worthy of our praise. Check it out.

Wow! What a powerful letter. Just a day in her shoes and one can see how crucial mom is for human flourishing. She literally kept you alive at times. She ensured I was cared for. And still to this day, no matter how old you are, mom is a major reason you are who you are. So take the time this weekend to make the call, get the gift, send the card, or better yet – all 3! Let’s make sure we bestow honor where honor is due…

Happy Mother’s Day Mom! I love you!

Until Next Time…
