Parenting is a never-ending road. On that journey, there are varying types of conversations and interactions you will and should have. There are intentional topics and recurring talks you will have with your children.
Part of being a parent is having foresight for your kids when they don't yet have it for themselves. This was the case for my 4-year-old. But his lack of discernment, and recognition of what the outcome would be, left him in a precarious position.
This is a sensitive, debated, and often very personal issue for many if not all of us. However, I don't believe that means we should not seek to think deeply about it. On the contrary, because of how personal and prevalent the issues of sex and gender are, I think it is something we must think deeply on. But as a Christian, I think that begins with understanding it theologically.
